Flight training to Kozushima in the Izu Islands is about 180km south of central Tokyo. Kozushima Airport, located in Kozushima Village, has a runway of 800m and is mainly used by small planes and helicopters. Since the airport is located on a steep cliff, it is necessary to pay attention to the wind when taking off and landing, and the trainees can learn a hands-on training.
